Frequently asked questions

How do I reset my progress?

Open Settings from the stage select (not during a run), scroll to Data and tap Reset progress, then confirm with Reset. Runs, scrap, cleared stages, ships and ship upgrades all go back to zero. This cannot be undone.

Only want to refund one ship's upgrades? Use Reset ship on that ship's upgrade screen.

What do I need to play?

An Android phone or tablet with a 64-bit ARM processor (arm64). Almost every Android phone sold in recent years has one. The game is played in portrait.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Cinderwing plays fully offline. It does not even have permission to use the internet.

Is my progress backed up or synced?

No. Progress is saved only on your device. It is not synced between devices, and uninstalling the game deletes it. See the privacy policy.

How do I join the beta?

Open the beta sign-up page on your Android device while signed in to Google Play, tap to become a tester, then install Cinderwing from Google Play.

How do I play?

Your weapons fire on their own. Drag anywhere on the screen to fly; the ship follows your finger's movement, so your thumb never covers it. Collect crystals to level up and pick a card each time. Tap BOMB to clear trouble, and II to pause. Survive to the boss and beat it to clear the stage.

The game is too hard (or too easy).

Every stage has four ranks. Start on one star. Scrap from every run, won or lost, buys permanent upgrades in the Hangar, and a stronger ship makes the early stages a breeze.
